Slavie in the Community
Slavie Federal Savings Bank's Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) activities were last examined in the first quarter of 2008 by the Office of Thrift Supervision (OTS). Slavie received an "Outstanding" rating. Slavie continues to be active in the communities we serve in an effort to maintain the highest possible rating.
Slavie was approved to provide Community Development Administration (CDA) loans. The CDA loan program is funded by state bonds to provide affordable home ownership to first time buyers and others in targeted areas. Targeted areas include Aberdeen in Harford County, parts of Towson in Baltimore County and all of Baltimore City.
Slavie is an active participant in the Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta - First Time Home-Buyers Program. Borrower(s) may receive a grant for up to $10,000 to be used for down payment and settlement costs. Counseling is included in the program through HARBEL Housing of which we are a sponsor.
Slavie's Community Room
Slavie has a community room available for nonprofits at the Bel Air headquarters. Several Girl Scout Brownie troops, a Boy Scout Tiger troop, the Retired Teachers Association and the Homestead Homeowners Association are some of the organizations that use the room for meetings free of charge.
If you're a member of a local nonprofit organization and are in need of a meeting space for your organization, Slavie is here for you. We know how important it is to have meeting space that is conducive to the growth and success of your organization's mission. Slavie's Community Room is a 19'x28' space that can accommodate approximately 40 people seated.
